PRE-K AND K PROGRAM: HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS
This hands-on program, which has been adopted by many local school districts, is a curriculum to introduce and enhance specific skills. It provides a smooth step-by-step route to navigate the goals of the two programs.
Pre-K: Get Set for School introduces school readiness activities. Through music, movement, building, coloring, and multi-sensory activities, children have fun as they develop these skills:
• Language proficiency
• Color and shape awareness
• Fine and gross motor control
• Letter and number recognition
• Counting abilities
• Social skills
Kindergarten: This program teaches capital and lowercase letter and number formation. Children learn to print using hands-on materials and developmentally appropriate activities. Fine motor work prepares students for pencil and paper success in the student workbook. Pencil grip and other printing foundation skills are taught.
